The whole DCC is identified by a CERN-provide barcode sticker placed on the logic board. Each component has an EDF serial number label, with the following format:
dddnnnnn
Where ddd is the part number, and nnnnn is the serial number. (Unfortunately to get readable barcodes we are restricted only to digits!)
Here is an initial list of part numbers for CMS:
101 | Link Receiver Board |
102 | Link Transmitter Board |
103 | VME Motherboard |
104 | DCC Logic Board |
105 | LED Display Board |
106 | Jumper Board |
And for D0
201 | DFEA2 Board |
Serial numbers should either start with 00001 for items with no previously defined number, or use the number already assigned.
